What I am objecting to is the School system in the UK is biased, and state sponsored and geared to religon. It's possible to teach children morals without invoking a god, afterlife, damnation, the bizzare 10 commandments or singing hymns.

I consider it immunisation,having been brought up in 'C of E' schools

Why should children be stigmatised by making them stand outside an school assembly if their faith is different or they are non-believers?

Science and religion don't mix. Education and religion don't mix. If we teach children to accept religion without question, then we are teaching them to accept ideas without question. They will defend these ideas as they can only be validated by those arround them believing as they do, as there is no evidence, so we teach them that those who dont agree are wrong, Hate and intolerance.
